Picking a celebrant isn’t a box-ticking exercise. This is your life, your people, your story — so whoever stands up there needs to actually get it. Not just read nicely off a page.

 

I’m based in Dumfries and Galloway and I create Humanist ceremonies that feel like you — not a template, not a script you’ve heard five times before. Weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, civil partnerships, and end-of-life ceremonies — if it matters, I’m in.

 

At home, it’s me, my wife Les, and Tucker (a Jackadoodle with issues). We’ve got two grown-up daughters and three grandchildren. Isn't that lovely?

 

I do this work because I believe the big moments in life deserve more than bland, forgettable words. They should feel honest, warm, properly you — with the right amount of humour, heart, and personality. No clichés.  All killer, no filler. No pretending to be something you’re not.

Fair warning: I wear bold statement necklaces. Not subtle. Not delicate. If I show up without one, check for signs of apocalypse.
